The Bridging the Gap project aims to promote the success of students interested in food and nutrition by engaging them in laboratory or community based research for the summer. This will deepen their understanding and appreciation of nutrition and enable them to connect their classroom learning to the real world of science. Students from Connecticut community colleges will get to know UConn and all participants will see it as a place that can support their learning and career goals. Fellowship recipients will be part of a vibrant community of researchers, both in this program and others offered in parallel, who will live and learn and explore science together.
